Archeologists have found statues of gods and goddesses in various cultures around the world which could only suggest that the people that designed them had religious beliefs.
These statues were meant to represent the gods and goddesses these cultures worshipped and as such were prayed to and highly revered so as to gain favor from the deity as well as to avoid incurring their wrath.
