Answer:

In mammals (like cat and dog pets), external respiration takes place by the exchange of gases in the alveoli of the lungs

Explanation:

External respiration refers to the process of exchange of gases, i.e., oxygen (O2) and carbon dioxide (CO2), with the environment. In mammals like humans, dogs and cats, external respiration occurs in the millions of alveoli in the lungs and the capillaries that are located in the walls of the alveoli. This process (gas exchange) happens due to simple diffusion. The O2 is taken from the environment (by inhalation) and travels from the alveoli to the blood in the capillaries that surround the alveoli, while and CO2 diffuses from the blood capillaries to the alveoli (where this gas is exhaled).

Dmitrij [34]
The intermediate color or rather condition, in this case "roan", is a result of two alleles being codominant. Codominance occurs when the phenotype (or the physical expression of the gene) of a heterozygote individual expresses both the alleles in a pair of genes. In the given situation, both parents are homozygotes.

shepuryov [24]

Closer examination will reveal that this animal has the presence of chelicerae but the absence of antennae. The chelicerae are usually segmented pincerlike appendages.

Chelicerates are animals that have two body segments; i.e., a cephalothorax and an abdomen.

Chelicerata is a division within the Arthropoda. These animals have six pairs of appendages.

All chelicerates have eight legs and lack antennae.

Spiders, mites, scorpions, and relatives are chelicerates.
