Answer:

Nominal variables.

Step-by-step explanation:

In Mathematics, a random variable can be defined as any variable whose values are determined by the outcome of a random experiment.

Basically, random variables are classified into two (2) main categories and these are;

1. Discrete variable: a discrete variable is a data set in which the number of possible values are either finite or countable. For instance, the value of a fair die, number of sweets in a jar, number of eggs in a crate etc.

2. Continuous variable: a continuous variable is a data set having infinitely many possible values and those values cannot be counted, meaning they are uncountable. Any quantity such as height, volume, weight, density, length, pressure, temperature, speed, distance, time are generally a continuous random variable.

Hence, the other name for continuous variables is nominal variables because they are numerical in nature.

We can start to solve this problem by using what we know. The recipe calls for 2/3 cup of flour per 1/4 batch of cookies. Now, If we want to write the rate as a complex fraction, we can replace the per with a division sign. This makes it become (2/3)/(1/4) or

50 POINTS PLEASE HELP!!
Aneli [31]

Answer:

Tanya: $ 2

Tony: $ 1.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Part a)

Number of games that Tanya bought = 3

Cost of each game that Tanya bought = x

Since, the cost for each game is x, the cost for 3 games would be 3x. So we can write:

Total cost of Tanya's items = 3x

Part b)

Number of games that Tony bought = 4

Each game that tony bought was $0.5 less in cost that what Tanya paid for each game. This means,

Cost of each game that Tony bought = x - 0.5

Since, the cost of each game is (x - 0.5), the cost for 4 games would be 4(x - 5). Thus,

Total cost of Tony's items = 4(x - 0.5)

Part c, d and e)

Since, both Tanya and Tony paid the same amount for their purchases, we can write:

Total cost of Tanya's items = Total cost of Tony's items

Using the values from previous parts, we get:

3x = 4(x - 0.5)

3x = 4x - 2

2 = 4x - 3x

x = 2

Since, x represents the cost of each item that Tanya paid, we can conclude that the cost of each game of Tanya was $ 2 and cost of each game of Tony was $ 1.5
