Thanks to the American military bases in foreign countries the United States could improve its national defense during World War II and the Cold War, some good examples are the were the ones located in the Galapagos islands and the Easter Island. Also, thanks to the commercial treaties with different countries, the United States could increase supply of raw materials like oil, wood and metals.
There are a lot of things that has happened in those times. And there are also a lot of things that the cold war have affected the education spending in 1945 in to the 1990s. Of course, the demand in education would be higher , the higher the education you have, the more powerful you would get.
