Answer and Explanation:

The computation is shown below

a. The cost of goods manufactured is

Materials used in product $130,300

Labor costs of assembly-line workers 116,100

Depreciation on plant 62,500

Property taxes on plant 24,300

Factory supplies used 34,000

Work in process inventory at January 1 $14,400

Less: Work in process inventory at december 1 -$17,600

Cost of goods manufactured $364,000

b. The cost of goods sold is

= Opening finished goods + cost of goods manufactured - ending finished goods

= $61,100 + $364,000 - $48,500

= $376,600

how would you predict the survivorship curve of a developed country would compare to that of a developing country
ANEK [815]

Answer:

The survivorship curve of a developed country would show a higher percentage of people surviving to each each group than in a developing country.

This is because in developing country life expectancy is lower than in developed countries.

The reason is that developing countries have less economic resources to invest in health systems, and also because in developing countries, many more people are poorer, and poorer people are more likely to suffer from disease.

Interest versus dividend expense Michaels Corporation expects earnings before interest and taxes to be $ 50 comma 000 for the cu
Brilliant_brown [7]

Answer:

Here we have two cases and in one of these we are paying interest on a normal loan which is tax deductible and in the other case we are paying interest on a preference share which is not Tax allowable expense. So in the nutshell, the only difference will be tax amount computed in both cases for calculating Earnings available for ordinary shareholders.

Case 1. Interest paid on normal loan

Earning After tax = (Earnings before Interest & Tax - Interest) - Tax

Earning After tax = ($50,000 - 12000) - 21%

Earning After tax = $38000 - 21%*$38000

Earning After tax =  $30020

The amount available for the ordinary shareholders is $300,20

Case 2. Interest on preference shares

As the interest paid on preference share is not tax deductible so the tax will be calculated as 21% of the amount $50,000. So

Earning After tax = Earnings before Interest & Tax - Interest - Tax

Earning After tax = $50,000 - 12000 - (21%*$50,000)

Earnings After Tax = $38,000 - $10,500 = $27,500

So the amount available for the ordinary shareholders is $27,500.

Sierra offers to sell Alyssa a Scottish terrier puppy for $800. Alyssa and Sierra do not discuss the dog’s ancestry, but Alyssa
lisabon 2012 [21]

Answer:

Probably not, because Alyssa made a mistake about the dog's value, not a mistake about material fact.

Explanation:

When Sierra offered to sell the dog to Allysa, Allysa failed to discuss the ancestry of the puppy. She wrongly believed the dog came from a line of champions.

On finding out the dog is only worth $200, she will not be able to rescind the contract because the onus to ask all relevant questions about the purchase before accepting is on her.

She made the mistake of assuming the dog was worth $800. She made a mistake about the dog's value and not the material fact.
