Answer:

55/128 * 100 = 43% females in the group

Step-by-step explanation:

On a school trip the ratio of the number of teachers to students is 1:15.

The ratio of male students to female students is 7:5.

Work out what percentage of people on the trip are female.

Give your answer correct to the nearest whole number.

I've tried multiplying by 5 but I just don't get ratios.

:

you have to know the male to female teachers ratio also

Let's assume the male to female teachers was 3:5, that means we have a minimum of8 teachers

The teacher student ratio is given as 1:15, therefore we have 15 *8 = 120 students

The total people, students and teachers = 128

We know we have 5 female teachers. Find how many female students

let x = the multiplier, then

7x = number of male students

5x = number of female students

7x + 5x = 120

12x = 120

x = 120/12

x = 10

therefore the number of female students 10*5 = 50 female students

Total female teachers and female students 5 + 50 = 55

Find the percentage females (55) to total in the group (128)

55/128 * 100 = 43% females in the group

Answer:

Option C

Step-by-step explanation:

The sum of finite geometric sequence states the following:

s_{n} =Σa_{i} r^{i-1} = a_{1}(\frac{1-r^{n} }{1-r} )

In this case, r = \frac{900}{1500} = \frac{9}{15} = \frac{3}{5}, and i = 10

Therefore,

1500( 1 + \frac{3}{5} + (\frac{3}{5})^{3} + (\frac{3}{5})^{4} + (\frac{3}{5})^{5} + (\frac{3}{5})^{6} + (\frac{3}{5})^{7} + (\frac{3}{5})^{8} + (\frac{3}{5})^{9}) = 1500( 2,4848) = 3.727, 3251 ≈  3.727

Therefore, the correct answer is the option C

The difference between the simple and compound interest for a certain sum of money of 3 years at 5% per annum is Rs.61.0. Find t
miss Akunina [59]

5% interest compounded annually for 3 years multiplies the initial balance by

... 1.05^3 = 1.157625

5% simple interest for 3 years multiplies the initial balance by 1 + 3*0.05 = 1.15.

The difference of these multipliers is

... 1.157625 - 1.15 = 0.007625

If the difference in account balance is Rs 61.00, then the invested principal amount P is

... P*0.007625 = 61.00

,.. P = 61.00/0.007625 = 8000.00

The sum of money is Rs 8000.

What is the equation of a line that is parallel to the line with the equation y=2/3x+2 and passes threw the point 1,-1
Lilit [14]

The equation of line parallel to given line is: y = \frac{2}{3}x-\frac{5}{3}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given equation of line is:

y = \frac{2}{3}x+2

As the line is in slope-intercept form, the co-efficient of x is the slope of the line

So,

m_1 =\frac{2}{3}

Let m2 be the slope of required line

As both the lines are parallel,

m_1 = m_2

So,

m_2 = \frac{2}{3}

The slope intercept form of line is:

y = mx+b

Putting the value of the slope

y = \frac{2}{3}x+b

To find the value of b, putting (1,-1) in the equation

-1 = \frac{2}{3}(1) +b\\-1 = \frac{2}{3} +b\\b = -1-\frac{2}{3}\\b = \frac{-3-2}{3}\\b = \frac{-5}{3}

Putting b=-5/3 in the equation

y = \frac{2}{3}x-\frac{5}{3}

Hence,

The equation of line parallel to given line is: y = \frac{2}{3}x-\frac{5}{3}

Find the units of displacement (translation) of the point (4,2) to get the image of (7,7). Chapter (transformation) (coordinates
SVEN [57.7K]

Answer:

The rule of the translation will be:

(x, y) → (x+3, y+5)

Step-by-step explanation:

Translation of an object is basically termed as "sliding" the original. If the image is moved right by the 'c' units, the 'c' unit(s) are added to the x-coordinate and if the image is moved left by the 'c' units, the 'c' unit(s) are subtracted to the x-coordinate.

And If the image is moved up by the 'c' units, the 'c' unit(s) are added to the y-coordinate and if the image is moved down by the 'c' units, the 'c' unit(s) are subtracted to the x-coordinate.

As the point is (4, 2)

The image of the point is (7, 7)

As the coordinates of the image point indicate that 3 units are added to the x-coordinate of the original point, and 5 units are added to the ý-coordinate.

Hence, the image will be move 3 units to the right and 5 units up.

Therefore, the rule of the translation will be:

(x, y)  →  (x+3, y+5)

as

(4, 2) →  (x+3, y+5) = (4+3, 2+5) = (7, 7)
