The amount of carbon-14 present in a paint after t years is given by y equals y Subscript o Baseline e Superscript negative 0.0
sesenic [268]

Answer:

The painting is t =  10911.1 \ years \ old

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question we are told that

    The amount of carbon present after t year is

           y(t) =  y_o * e ^{-0.00012t}    {Note ; This is the function }

Here  y(t) is the amount of carbon-14 after time t

        y_o the original amount of carbon-14

Now given that the paint as at now contain 27% of the original carbon-14

  Then it mean that

            y(t) =  0.27 y_o

So the equation is represented as

       0.27 y_o  =  y_o * e ^{-0.00012t}

=>    0.27  =  * e ^{-0.00012t}

=>    ln(0.27)   =   -0.00012t

=>  - 1.30933  =   -0.00012t

=>  t  =  \frac{-1.30933}{-0.00012}

=>   t =  10911.1 \ years

Help with the following problems please and thank you
Marat540 [252]
Just add the numbers in front of variables if the variables are the same!
2) 5x+7+2x=7x+7 Because you would add the 5 and 2, and since the 7 doesn't have a variable you add it onto the end.
3) 16+4p (13p-9p is 4p)
4) y^2 +  5y (you can't combine y^2 with a y variable because it has a different exponent! if there is no exponent shown it is assumed to be 1. If exponents are the same you combine them, but if not you leave it as is)
5) You distribute the 5 (multiply) with 2h and 3, leaving 10h+15+3h which is 13h+15
6) 19+4n (12+7 is 19, and 18n-14n is 4n)
7) Distribute the 2 to get 18+10k
8) Distribute the 5 to get 15m+10
9) Distribute the 6 to get 6g+6h (you can't combine these because they are different variables)
10) The GCF of 4 and 8 is 4. Place the 4 out of the parentheses. Divide 4d and 8 by four and place them inside the parentheses. 4d is 4 times d so if you divide 4 by 4 you're left with 1d or just d. 8 divided by four is two. 4(d+2)
11) GCF= 7 so 7(3p+5q)
12) GCF= 9 so 9(2x+y)

Natalia bought 888 glitter wands for \$50$50dollar sign, 50.
maxonik [38]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  6 for $37.50 has the same price

Step-by-step explanation:

The price per wand is found by dividing the price by the number of wands.

  8 for $50   ⇒   $50/8 = $6.25 per wand

__

  4 for $20   ⇒   $20/4 = $5.00 per wand   <em>not the same</em>

  6 for $37.50   ⇒   $37.50/6 = $6.25 per wand   <em>is the same price</em>

  10 for $65   ⇒   $65/10 = $6.50 per wand   <em>not the same</em>

Team D used a recipe that consists of 20 cups of sand, 2 cups of flour, and 3 cups of water. How does the percent of sand in Tea
spayn [35]

Answer:

80%

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Team D used a recipe that consists of 20 cups of sand, 2 cups of flour, and 3 cups of water.

Question asked:

How does the percent of sand in Team D's recipe compare to that of the other teams ?

Solution:

Team D used a recipe that consists of sand = 20 cups

Team D used a recipe that consists of  flour =  2 cups

Team D used a recipe that consists of  water = 3 cups

Total number of cups together = 20 + 2+ 3 =25 cups

Now we will have to find percent of cups of sand out of the total number of cups.

By using formula of percentage,

Percent = \frac{Value}{Total \ value}\times100

             =\frac{20}{25} \times100\\=\frac{2000}{25} =80\%

Therefore, 80% of sand in Team D's recipe compare to that of the other teams.
