Noemi wants to divide 2x^2−x+4 by x−5 using synthetic division.Which answer shows the correct process? A synthetic division diag
STALIN [3.7K]

Answer:

2x + 9 with a remainder of 45.

Step-by-step explanation:

If the divisor is x-5, use the divisor 5 in synthetic div.

Taking the coefficients 2, -1 and 4 from the dividend, we get:

    ------------------

5  /    2    -1    4

              10   45

    --------------------

       2       9   49

This tells us that the quotient is 2x + 9 and that the remainder is 49.

Hey, can you help me out here (please)?
FinnZ [79.3K]
In the x quarts of 2% fat milk, there is 0.02x quarts of fat.
in the y quarts of 4% fat milk there is 0.04y quarts of fat.
together, there is (x+y) quarts of milk, and 0.24 quarts of fat.
the equations are:
x+y=9
0.02x+0.04y=0.24
multiply the first equation with 0.02: 0.02x+0.02y=0.18
subtract this new equation from equaition 2 to eliminate x:
0.04y-0.02y=0.24-0.18
0.02y=0.06
y=3
x=9-3=6
x is twice as much as y.
He used twice as much as the 2% fat milk than the 4% fat milk.
so the first choice is the correct answer.

The line graph shows the miles per gallon for a car.
Vikentia [17]

The unit rate of gas usage is 35 miles per gallon.

Step-by-step explanation:

"Unit rate" refers to the number of miles for 1 gallon.

<u>From the graph given</u>,

it can be determined that, the car goes 2 miles for 70 gallons and 3 miles for 105 gallons.

To find miles per gallon, <u>use rate formula</u>

Rate= <em>Given miles/ Given gallons</em>= 2/70

Unit Rate= <em>miles/ 1 gallon</em>= X/1

where "X" term refers to number of miles per gallon.

By Comparing the rates we get,

2/70 =X/1

<u>X=35 miles per gallon</u>

Similarly,

3/105 =X/1

<u>X=35 miles per gallon</u>

Can someone please help me it was my last question I really need help please help me
kobusy [5.1K]

Really ? ?

Price per inch has the units of  "price/inch".  See that ?  It comes from dividing 'price' by 'inches'.

Price = $7.56

Inches = don't know;

... but we know it's 7 feet, and every foot has 12 inches in it

... so there are (7 x 12) = 84 inches of ribbon.

Price per inch = ($7.56) / (84 inches)

Prince per inch = (7.56/84) (dollars/inch)

Now, YOU go ahead and do the division to get the final answer.

Starting at home Omar traveled a pill to the gift store for 30 minutes such as 10 mph event travels back home along the same pat
Dmitry [639]

We know Distance formula is  Distance = speed * time

time = \frac{distance}{speed}

Let, the distance Omar traveled = d  and speed is 10 miles per hour

Time taken  t for the first trip  t = \frac{d}{10}

Let, the distance Omar traveled = d  and speed is 30 miles per hour

Time taken  t for the return  trip  t = \frac{d}{30}

Total time taken =  \frac{d}{10} + \frac{d}{30} = \frac{3d+d}{30} = \frac{4d}{30}

Now, Average \ speed = \frac{total \  distance}{total \ time \ taken}

Total distance = d+d= 2d

Average speed = \frac{2d}{\frac{4d}{30}} = 2d * \frac{30}{4d} = 15

His average speed for the entire trip from home to the gift store and back is

15 miles per hour
