Not exactly sure if I’m understanding the question correctly, but here is my answer:

2x+20

Explanation:

I took the equation of the larger rectangle (5x+18) and subtracted the equation of the smaller rectangle (3x-2) from it.
(5x+18) - (3x-2)
Distribute the (-) to the second equation to get 5x+18 -3x+2
Combine alike terms to leave you with 2x+20

True or False: Like the edges of a filled-in area, the endpoints of a polygon do not need to conform to snap points.
kirill [66]

Answer:

The answer is "False."

Explanation:

An area is considered the amount of space that an object occupies. A filled-area subjects the object to be made  up of lines. These lines connect with each other to form an "edge."

The connection of the lines in order to define the object's shape or area are considered "snap points." Remember that "polygons" are made of line segments, where their endpoints meet with each other in order to define its closed shaped. <u>Thus, it needs to conform to "snap points."</u>

This explains the answer.

What is the discriminant of the quadratic equation 0 = –x2 + 4x – 2?
Elis [28]
The formula to find the discriminant equals D = b^2-4ac.
(Quadratic equations have the formula ax^2+bx+c. A = -1, B = +4, C = -2.)

D = 4^2-4(-1)(-2). 8-8 = 0.

0 = 1 solution
-D = 0 solutions
+D = 2 solutions

The discriminant equals 0, also establishing that if you were asked to find the solutions, there would only be one.
