2x + y = 10
Subtract 2x from both sides of equation.
y = 10 - 2x
Now put in slope intercept form.
y = -2x + 10
The 2 is negative. The sign stays with it.
Same for the 10. It’s positive and the sign stays with it.

Vedmedyk [2.9K]

Answer:

a) 151lb.

b) 6.25 lb

Step-by-step explanation:

The Central Limit Theorem estabilishes that, for a random variable X, with mean \mu and standard deviation \sigma, a large sample size can be approximated to a normal distribution with mean \mu and standard deviation \frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}.

In this problem, we have that:

\mu = 151, \sigma = 25, n = 16

So

a) The expected value of the sample mean of the weights is 151 lb.

(b) What is the standard deviation of the sampling distribution of the sample mean weight?

This is s = \frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}} = \frac{25}{\sqrt{16}} = 6.25
