Answer:

Homeostasis is important because it's an organisms known environment. Even if you were to alter the environment by a little, it would effect the organism greatly. For example, if a rainforest's temperature changed to be similar to that of a desert's, then the inhabitants of the rainforest would die due to them being unaware of how to survive and blend in the desert-like temperature. In short, changing an environment can eliminate a lot of known survival skills for organisms, such as camouflage.

What types of permanent settlements did the Spanish establish in North America?
Makovka662 [10]
The Spanish established permanent settlements in North America. The first settlement was a Spanish fort called St. Augustine in Florida. It was established in 1565. Its primary function was that of a base camp for explorers who explored the continent. It was also used as a centre to convert the local Native Americans to Roman Catholicism. There were a few settlements established in outlying areas. These did not last. They were either attacked and destroyed by the Native Americans, or they had to close because they could not support themselves economically.

sdas [7]

During the mental status examination, a client may be asked to explain such proverbs as "Don't cry over spilled milk." The purpose of this is to evaluate the client's ability to think: abstractly.

The correct option is a.

Abstract thinking is the capacity to comprehend and decipher meaning. It's a higher level of intellectual functioning than concrete thinking, in which the client explains the proverb by its literal meaning. Rational thinking involves the capacity to think clearly, make decisions, and be goal-directed.

Tangential thinking is scattered, non-goal-directed, and hard to follow. Clients with such conditions as organic brain disease and schizophrenia typically can't conceptualise and comprehend abstract meaning. Their literal interpretation of phrases like "Don't cry over spilled milk" is "Even if you spill your milk, you shouldn't cry about it."

During the mental status examination, a client may be asked to explain such proverbs as "Don't cry over spilled milk." The purpose of this is to evaluate the client's ability to think:

a. abstractly.

b. tangentially.

c. concretely.

d. rationally.
