Jefferson mostly used the ideas of Enlightenment philosophers. Their idea was that no one can rule without restrictions. Therefore, it was obvious that Jefferson was mostly influenced by Locke's ideas about the right of life and liberty. While writing the Declaration he inserted this ideas.
