How do I solve this problem?
nexus9112 [7]
Subtract the second equation from the first equation.
x = -1
Plug -1 back in to either equation and solve for y.
3(-1) + y =-10
-3 + y = -10
Add 3 to both sides
y = -7
CHECK
3(-1) -7 = -10
2(-1) -7 = -9
(-1, -7)

Write the word sentence as an inequality. Then solve the inequality.
vladimir2022 [97]

Answer:

The inequality is 6x ≥ -24

The solution of this inequality is {x : x ∈ R, x ≥ -4} ⇒ [-4, ∞)

Step-by-step explanation:

  • In the inequality not more than means ≤
  • In the inequality at least means ≥

Let us solve the question

∵ Six times a number x means 6 × x = 6x

∵ At least means ≥

∴ Six times a number x is at least -24 is 6x ≥ -24

∴ The inequality is 6x ≥ -24

Now we will find the solution of the inequality

∵ 6x ≥ -24

→ Divide both sides by 6

∵ \frac{6x}{6} ≥ \frac{-24}{6}

∴ x ≥ -4

∴ The solution of this inequality is {x : x ∈ R, x ≥ -4} ⇒ [-4, ∞)

Hello!

First you have to find the volume of the cube

To do this we use the equation a^3

a is a side length

24^3 = 13824

The maximum pyramid can have a maximum side length of 24 and a maximum height of 24 since that is what the cube measurements are

The equation for the volume of a square pyramid is

a^{2}  \frac{h}{3}

a is side length
h is height

put in 24 for the values

24^{2}  \frac{24}{3}

Square the 24

576 \frac{24}{3}

Divide

576 * 8 = 4608

The answer is B) 4608 cubic centimeters

Hope this helps!

Triangles A B C and N M L are shown. Angles B A C and L N M are right angles.
tresset_1 [31]

The additional information needed to prove both triangles are similar are:

A. ∠B ≅ ∠M

C. △ABC was rotated and dilated by a scale factor between 0 and 1

E. ∠C ≅ ∠L

<h3>What are Similar Triangles?</h3>

When a triangle is rotated and dilated by a scale factor, the new triangle formed has the same shape but different size of the original triangle. However, all its corresponding angles remains congruent.

Thus, for triangles ABC and NML to be similar to each other, since we already known each have one congruent right angles, the additional information needed are:

A. ∠B ≅ ∠M

C. △ABC was rotated and dilated by a scale factor between 0 and 1

E. ∠C ≅ ∠L
