Human rights are basic rights that belong to all of us simply because we are human. They embody key values in our society such as fairness, dignity, equality and respect. They are an important means of protection for us all, especially those who may face abuse, neglect and isolation.
<em><u>Knowing your rights will help you to know the rules, so that you will never break them. And when you know the rules, it will help you not associate yourself with wrong people who will make you to do wrong things. And you wont be a violent person because you will know that you might end up in prison.</u></em><em><u>Human rights also guarantee people the means necessary to satisfy their basic needs, such as food, housing, and education, so they can take full advantage of all opportunities. Finally, by guaranteeing life, liberty, equality, and security, human rights protect people against abuse by those who are more powerful.</u></em><em><u>They are an important means of protection for us all, especially those who may face abuse, neglect and isolation.</u></em>
