Answer:

1.Carbon is the chemical backbone of life on Earth. Carbon compounds regulate the Earth's temperature, make up the food that sustains us, and provide energy that fuels our global economy. Most of Earth's carbon is stored in rocks and sediments. The rest is located in the ocean, atmosphere, and in living organisms.1 Feb 2019

2.Carbon is found in the atmosphere mostly as carbon dioxide. Animal and plant respiration place carbon into the atmosphere. When you exhale, you are placing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. ... Carbon is found in the hydrosphere dissolved in ocean water and lakes.

The presence of a negative allosteric effector on an allosteric protein would: a. cause a shift to the left in the sigmoidal cur
Feliz [49]

Answer:

d. raise the apparent value of the equilibrium constant, L.

Explanation:

Allosteric regulation is a type of regulation of an enzyme by binding an effector molecule at a site other than the protein's active site (i.e., the allosteric site). The equilibrium constant (L) refers to the transition between two forms of an allosteric protein in absence of a ligand. The properties of allosteric enzymes are explained by conformational changes associated with a low-affinity tense (T) state, or a high-affinity relaxed (R) state. Negative allosteric effectors are molecules that bind to the allosteric site on an enzyme in order to decrease its activity, thereby leading the enzyme to a low activity T state and thus increasing the value of the equilibrium constant.

If a blood cell is placed into a solution of 10M salt (highly salty) what would you expect to occur?
steposvetlana [31]
The blood cell will lose water and will undergo lysis.

Cell membrane is permeable to water and can get/lose water via osmosis. Osmosis is induced by the gradient of concentration of the solution. In this case, the 10M salt solution has a very high oncotic pressure that it will attract nearby water. That means the water inside the cells will be taken into the solution and cell will continue to shrink and then die.
