What can be inferred about the Earl of Tennessee?
Aneli [31]

Answer:

Earl, another of Esperanza's neighbors, is a jukebox repairman who works nights and is seen only when he comes out to tell the children sitting in front of his door to keep quiet. He has two lively dogs, and occasionally he gives the children old jukebox records. Earl supposedly has a wife, and many of the neighbors claim to have seen her, but everyone describes her differently. Earl clearly has a series of women whom he brings to his apartment for quick visits every now and then.

How do the Gamemakers drive the tributes towards the lake and why does Katniss believe that they are doing so?
Marina CMI [18]

Answer:

Gamekeepers drive tributes to the lake by making the difficulties like fire or drying out the water. Katniss knows this because they control everything, and they also need to produce excitement for the audience.

Explanation:

Gamekeepers create various troubles and difficulties for the tributes in order to drive them to the same place. One of these difficulties is the fire that starts surrounding Katniss. It is so large, that she knows it is synthetically made, which means by Gamekeepers. Later on, Katniss and Peeta are also driven to the lake by the fact that all other water sources have been dried up and this proves to be the only place to get the water.

Katniss is sure of this because she already knows the way Hunger Games work. The Gamekeepers must make the games interested to the audience, which includes direct combat with other tributes. She realizes these are all events that do not happen naturally but are made by Gamekeepers as the arena is also made and controlled by them completely.

scoundrel [369]

“Their eyes were watching God”, the most renowned work from the Afro-American Writer Zora Neale Hurston, is considered the master piece from this author as well as one of the greatest Harlem’s Renaissance works. Hurston wrote the story while she was in Haiti studying the folklore of the zone for an anthropological research. “Their eyes were watching God” was published in 1937. The story is an inspirational call for both Afro-American girls and girls in general.

The story tells the life of a young girl called Janie who lives with her grandmother, Nanny. Janie´s mother, Leafy, left Janie with her own mother Nanny, she ran away and left both her mother and daughter. Nanny wants Janie to get marry to have a man to take care of her for she might not be able to do it by her own. Janie gets married to an old farmer man called Killicks. Although she gets married to Killicks, his idea of a wife is more of a maid because that is what he expects from Janie. So mostly, Janie is really unhappy and sad, and she decided to leave Killicks for a man called Jody Starks and they run away. After sometime Starks dies and Janie is left alone but a substantial amount of money, she is at last independent and financially buoyant. After a period of time she meets a man called Vergible Woods known by the name "Tea Cake" and despite they have their ups and downs Janie is finally happy she finally has the marriage she had always wanted.

So we can conclude that in the passage she is happy and she has the marriage she has always wanted
