Find the value of the variable.<br> All answers
svp [43]

First one.

Since the two angles are congruent through vertical angles theorem,

5x = 6x - 8

5x - 6x = -8

-x = -8

x = 8

Second one.

Use the 180° rule.

(8x - 2) + (2x + 2) = 180

8x - 2 + 2x + 2 = 180

8x + 2x + 2 - 2 = 180

10x = 180

x = 180 / 10

x = 18

Third one.

Vertical angle theorem.

7x = 5x + 40

7x - 5x = 40

2x = 40

x = 40 / 2

x = 20

I added three non-unit fractions together to make a whole. What three fractions could that be?
Anna11 [10]

Answer:

For example \frac{2}{6}

Step-by-step explanation:

A non-unit fraction is a fraction of which the numerator is not equal to one. Additionally, the question does not state to pick three different ones and thus you can pick any fraction that when multiplied by three (since you take three fractions together) add up to a whole number (I'm picking the whole number to be one here just to make it simple), where the numerator is not equal to one of course.

For example:    \frac{2}{6}, because 3·    \frac{2}{6} =      \frac{6}{6} = 1

Infinitely many solutions can be found: for example \frac{3}{9} , \frac{4}{12} , etc
