using the gas pedal analogy explain the impact on the cell cycle of a proto-oncogene versus an oncogene

Biology

Using the gas pedal analogy, the proto-oncogene would be an accelerator since they promote cell division and deregulate apoptosis, while tumor suppressor would be the brakes since they constrain the progress of the cell cycle and induce cell apoptosis. An oncogene is, therefore, when the accelerator is stuck in down position and the brakes are not working.

Amino acids with hydrophobic r groups are most often found buried in the interior of folded proteins. true or false
pentagon [3]

Answer:

True

Explanation:

Hydrophobicity is the aversion to the water of a molecule (or part of it). Amino acids with a hydrophobic R group (glycine, alanine, valine, leucine, isoleucine, proline, phenylalanine, methionine, and tryptophan) will fold with the R groups in the interior to avoid water. This behavior is one of the most important forces in protein folding. You can see it exemplified in the image I added.

I hope you fidn this information useful and interesting! Good luck!

Cell division seems to be limited by the length of chromosomal structures called ____________.
svet-max [94.6K]
The answer is chromosomes. The chromosome contains the DNA nuclei. It contains all the genetic material of the parents.It is often duplicated in the cell metaphase of the cell division. Chromosomes differ from one organism to another. They are often visible under the microscope.

A force is applied to a particle along its direction of motion. At what speed is the magnitude of force required to produce a gi
krek1111 [17]

Answer:

Explanation:

The detailed steps are as shown below

 • Recalling from F = ma
 • a = F/m
 • but magnitude of force F = √ [ 1 - v²/c²]

but acceleration twice as great as the force required to produce the same acceleration;

 • 2m = m / √[ 1 - v²/c²]
 • 2 = 1 / √ [ 1 - v²/c²]
 • square both sides ;

4 = 1 / [ 1 - v²/c²]

1/4 = 1 - v²/c²

v²/c² = 3/4

v/c = √ [3/4]

v = 0.87c

but speed of light c = 3 x 10^8m/s

v = speed of the particle = 0.87( 3 x 10^8m/s)

v = 2.61m/s
