How do you find the inverse function of y=3x+2

Mathematics

Switch the 'x' with a 'y' and vice versa, so the equation looks like:
x=3y+2

Then solve for y to find the inverse function!
x-2=3y
y=(x/3)-2/3

There are 12 pieces of candy in a bowl. 6 are mints, 4 are Butterscotch, and 2 are Cinnamon.
Ksju [112]

Answer:

1/6

Step-by-step explanation:

total = 12

number of butterscotch = 4

number of mint = 6

Since he replaces the mint, these events are independent events.

p(butterscotch, then mint) = p(butterscotch) * p(mint)

p(event) = (number of desired outcomes)/(total number of outcomes)

p(butterscotch) = 4/12 = 1/3

p(mint) = 6/12 = 1/2

p(butterscotch, then mint) = p(butterscotch) * p(mint)

p(butterscotch, then mint) = 1/3 * 1/2

p(butterscotch, then mint) = 1/6

Answer: 1/6

160,000 because you need to first multiply 800 by 12 since it is from a year (annum) to months you should get 9,600 then rather than multiplying by 0.06 to find 6% we divide to find what it is 6% of.

Joe has eaten 3/5 of pizza. Jane has eaten 1/7 of pizza. how many times more pizza has Joe eaten than Jane
Lana71 [14]

The answer would be 14/5.

First of all, get the denominators to be the same. The LCM is  5 × 7 = 3/5

So  1 /7 × 5/ 5 = 5 /3/5

And  2/ 5 × 7 /7 = 14 /35

Now we have  5 /35  and  14 /35

Then all you have to do is divide Joe's by Jane's to get the answer.

14 /35 ÷ 5 35 =14 /35 × 35/ 5 = 14 /5

Meaning the answer is 14/5.

Hope I could help! :)

The bowling scores for six people are: 22,114,115,120,122,125What is the most appropriate measure of center? A.the median B.the
makkiz [27]

To find the correct answer we have to find the median, the mean, the range

To find the median arrange the scores from smallest to greatest

22, 114, 115, 120, 122, 125

The median is the average of the 2 middle scores

Since the middle scores are 115, and 120, then

The median is

\begin{gathered} \text{Med}\mathrm{}=\frac{115+120}{2} \\ \text{Med}\mathrm{}=117.5 \end{gathered}

The mean is the sum of the scores divided by the number of scores

\begin{gathered} \text{Mean}=\frac{22+114+115+120+122+125}{6} \\ \text{Mean}=103 \end{gathered}

Because of the lower score (22) the mean, not an appropriate measure of center

The range is the difference between the greatest and the smallest score

Since the greatest score is 125 and the smallest score is 22, then

\begin{gathered} \text{Range}=125-22 \\ \text{Range}=103 \end{gathered}

It is the same with the mean, then it is also not an appropriate measure of center

The standard deviation is for a sample of scores, then it is not the answer

Then the most appropriate measure of center is the median

The answer is A
