Answer:

The different methods are;

1. Bar/Graphical scale

2. Representative fraction scale

3. Verbal scale

Explanation:

Maps are representations of the world or a portion of it on paper. Scales are a comparison of the real life size of two distances on a map to the size denoted on paper. The above-listed are different ways of representing scales.

1. Bar/Graphical scale: This is a representation of the units obtainable in the real world. Here, the lengths indicated in the graph, from one point to another, is same as what is gotten in the real world.

2. Representative fraction scale: This takes the form of a ratio. An example is 1: 200. This means that 1 unit on the map equals 200 units when measured in the real life.

3. Verbal scale: This kind of scale is expressed in words. For example, "one inch is equal to 50 miles."

Answer:

There was tremendous demand in Europe for Chinese tea, silks, and porcelain pottery, but there was correspondingly little demand in China for Europe’s manufactured goods and other trade items. Consequently, Europeans had to pay for Chinese products with gold or silver.
