Hyphae are a filamentous vegetative structure of some fungi and a large network of hyphae form a mycelium (vegetative body). Mycelium is actually mass of branched, tubular hyphae. Because of its structure, hyphae enable the fungi structural strength (it is composed of at least one cell encapsulated by a protective cell wall usually made of chitin). The combination of branching hyphae with their radial/diffuse growth is a huge advantage for mycelium that can explore and exploit a large area. Also, hyphae and their organisation (diffuse or radial growth) have a role in the absorptive nutrition of the fungi. For example, parasitic fungi have specialized hyphae with tips, haustoria, which penetrate the host organisms or symbiotic fungi that have specialized hyphae, arbuscules, which can be found in the roots of vascular plants.

Suppose that in plants, smooth seeds (S) are dominant to wrinkle seeds (s) and tall plants (T) are dominant to short plants (t).
djyliett [7]

Answer:

1/4

Explanation:

According to the given information, the dominant plant is back-crossed with a homozygous recessive parent. Therefore, the dominant plant is heterozygous for both genes.

The genotype of the tall plant with smooth seeds would be = TtSs

And the genotype of the dwarf parent with wrinkled seeds = ttss

A cross between TtSs x ttss gives heterozygous tall plants with smooth seeds (TtSs) in 1/4 ratio.
