Katyanochek1 [597]

Answer: B. The data represent a sample since the data are a subset of units.

Step-by-step explanation:

  • A population is the largest group of entire observations that can be made during a study.
  • A sample is a finite subset of the population that represents the entire population.

Here,

Population = Participants for the study were those who used a popular social networking Web site.

Since the entire data for the "persons used a popular social networking Web site" is not possible.

There have been taken a sample of them.

∴ Correct answer is B. The data represent a sample since the data are a subset of units.

kobusy [5.1K]
To solve/simplify this all you have to do is group like terms (the x^2's with each other, the x's with each other, and the normal numbers, -8)

14x^2-8+5x-6x^2+2x

group the x^2 (add 14x^2 to -6x^2)

8x^2-8+5x+2x

group the x's together (add 5x and 2x together)

8x^2+7x-8

Your answer will be d) 8x^2+7x-8

Debra found that 6 of the 24 students in her class own a cell phone . What is the ratio of students that own a cell phone to stu
ale4655 [162]
6:18 students in Debra's class own a cellphone. Because there are 24 people in total. Minus the people who already own cellphones. Leaving 18 without cellphones. The ratio is people who have cellphones to people who do not.
24-6=18. Thus, the ratio would be 6:18
