5 0

Answer:

16

Step-by-step explanation:

I started at zero, added 15, we get 15, I then subtracted 21, since 3 times 7 is 21. I get -6. If instead made my base number 6, and then did all this, I would get zero. I would then add 10 to the base number of six, making my base number 16. Doing this process all over again, you indeed find it to be 10. 16 + 15 = 31. 31- 21 = 10.

Find the distance between the two points S (-5,-2) and T (-3,4).
icang [17]

Answer:

d =2 \sqrt{10}

General Formulas and Concepts:

<u>Pre-Algebra</u>

  • Order of Operations: BPEMDAS

<u>Algebra II</u>

  • Distance Formula: d = \sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Step 1: Define</u>

S (-5, -2)

T (-3, 4)

<u>Step 2: Find distance </u><em><u>d</u></em>

  1. Substitute:                    d = \sqrt{(-3+5)^2+(4+2)^2}
  2. Add:                              d = \sqrt{(2)^2+(6)^2}
  3. Evaluate:                      d = \sqrt{4+36}
  4. Add:                              d = \sqrt{40}
  5. Simplify:                       d =2 \sqrt{10}
