Slope formula is suitable if you know exactly two points of the line. But if the points are intercepts, intercept formula will be more efficient.

Instead of making the negative number into the calculation, my habit is to settle the minus sign before the calculation, which makes life easier.

What is the ordered pair solution for y>= 1/3x+4
blondinia [14]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

y > (1/3)x + 4 has an infinite number of solutions.  Draw a dashed line representing y = (1/3)x + 4 and then pick points at random on either side of this line.  For example, pick (1, 6).  Substitute 1 for x in y > (1/3)x + 4 and 6 for y.  Is the resulting inequality true?  Is 6 > (1/3)(1) + 4 true?  YES.  So we know that (1, 6) is a solution of y > (1/3)x + 4.  Because (1, 6) lies ABOVE the line y = (1/3)x + 4, we can conclude that all points abovve this line are solutions.

stira [4]

Hey there!

To solve this, we can use division. First, lets turn 1 \frac{1}{4} into an improper fraction:

\frac{5}{4}

So, we have

\frac{5}{4} / \frac{1}{2}

We can multiply by the reciprocal:

\frac{5}{4} *\frac{2}{1}

That gives us

\frac{10}{4} =\frac{5}{2} =2\frac{1}{2}

Hope it helps and have a great day!

Timothy has $500. He spends $50 each week on
earnstyle [38]

Answer:

It takes 10 weeks to spend each $500

Step-by-step explanation:

If he spend $50 each week on groceries, we can say that he spend $100 on groceries every two weeks

To make it to 500 dollars we would have to use the equation 100x5.

This equals to 500

We could also do 100 plus 100 plus 100 plus 100 plus 100.
