Answer:

y = 1.

Step-by-step explanation:

We're talking about a set of points already in a plane, so consider the x-y plane, in which the equations y = 5 and y = -3 correspond to vertical lines. All the points equidistant from both lines would fall on the vertical line right in the middle of y = 5 and y = -3, which we can get by taking the average:

(5 + (-3)) / 2 = 2 / 2 = 1

So this locus is the single vertical line y = 1.

We're talking about a set of points already in a plane, so consider the <em>x</em>-<em>y</em> plane, in which the equations <em>y</em> = 5 and <em>y</em> = -3 correspond to vertical lines. All the points equidistant from both lines would fall on the vertical line right in the middle of <em>y</em> = 5 and <em>y</em> = -3, which we can get by taking the average:

(5 + (-3)) / 2 = 2 / 2 = 1

So this locus is the single vertical line <em>y</em> = 1.

The exterior angle is = to the 2 interior angles.
83 = (9x + 4) + (4x + 1) Remove the brackets
83 = 9x + 4 + 4x + 1 Group the like terms
83 = 9x + 4x + 4 + 1 Add the like terms.
83 = 13x + 5 Subtract 5 from both sides.
78 = 13x Divide by 13
78 / 13 = x
x =  6

So They want the angles
9x + 4 = 9*6 + 4 = 58
4x + 1 = 4*6 + 1 = 25

When you add these two together you should get 83. Do you?

the volume of a prism with equilateral triangular cross-section is 270cm^3 . If the length if the prism is 10 root 3 cm, what is
stepan [7]

Given:

The volume of a prism with equilateral triangular cross-section is 270cm³.

Length of the prism = 10\sqrt{3} cm

To find:

The length of the side of the equilateral triangular cross-section.

Solution:

Formulae used:

Area of an equilateral triangle is

Area=\dfrac{\sqrt{3}}{4}a^2

Where a is the side length of equilateral triangle.

Volume of prism is

V=Bh

Where, B is base area and h is the height of the triangular prism.

Cross section of the prism is an equilateral triangular so the base area of the prism is  \dfrac{\sqrt{3}}{4}a^2 sq. cm.

The volume of the prism is

V=\dfrac{\sqrt{3}}{4}a^2\times 10\sqrt{3}

270=\dfrac{10(3)}{4}a^2

270=\dfrac{30}{4}a^2

270=7.5a^2

Divide both sides by 7.5.

\dfrac{270}{7.5}=a^2

36=a^2

\pm \sqrt{36}=a

6=a

It takes only positive value because the side cannot be negative.

Therefore, the length of the side of the equilateral triangular cross-section is 6 cm.

Sav [38]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The area of a circle is :A= π r²    r : the radius

A= 8π square units

so : π r² = 8π

r² = 8

r = √8 = √(4 × 2) =√4×√2

r = 2√2 units
