Answer:

small triangle area = 1/2(8)(14) = 56 m²

bigger triangle area = 1/2(16)(14) = 112 m²

biggest triangle area = 1/2(24)(14) = 168 m²

there's 2 bigger triangles so you pick the bigger one you want

Answer:

smaller triangle area = 56m²

larger triangle area = 112m²

total area = 168m²

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of triangle = \frac{bh}{2}

where b = base length and h = height

smaller triangle dimensions

base length= 8m

height = 14m

* plug in the values into the formula *

area=\frac{8*14}{2} \\8*14 =112\\\frac{112}{2}=56\\A=56m^2

so we can conclude that the area of the smaller triangle is 56 square meters

larger triangle dimensions

base length = 16m

height = 14m

* plug in the values into the formula *

area=\frac{16*14}{2} \\16*14=224\\\frac{224}{2} =112\\A=112m^2

so we can conclude that the area of the larger triangle is 112 square meters

total area = the sum of the two triangle's area

total area = 112 + 56

112 + 56 = 168

hence the total area is 168 square meters

To qualify for a scholarship, a student must score at least 90% on a written test. The test is 64 questions. Using this metric,
Ket [755]

Answer:

6 questions

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>First</u>, you divide the total score of 100 by the 64 questions to get 1.5625 points per question. <u>Next</u>, you divide the lowest score to qualify of 90 by the 1.5625 to get 57.6 questions correct to qualify. <u>Then</u>, you round 57.6 questions correct up to 58 questions correct because a fraction of a question correct doesn't make sense. <u>Finally</u>, you subtract the total number of questions (64) by the required correct answers (58) to get 6 questions you can miss to still qualify for the scholarship.

Help pls <br> 5/2x-7=3/4x+14
katrin2010 [14]

\frac{5}{2}x-7=\frac{3}{4}x+14

\frac{5x}{2}-7=\frac{3}{4}x+14\\\\\frac{5x}{2}-7=\frac{3x}{4}+14

10x−28=3x+56

10x=3x+56+28

10x=3x+84

10x−3x=84

7x=84

x=\frac{84}{7}

x=12

Hope this helps, have a blessed and wonderful day!

A border of uniform width is placed around a rectangular photograph that measures 8 inches by 10 inches. If the area of the bord
amid [387]

Answer:

width of the border is 3 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

Given data

size = 8 inches by 10 inches

area = 144 square inches

to find out

width of the border

solution

first we consider width of border is x

area of new full rectangle =  (8 + 2x ) × ( 10 + 2x )

so we know  area of photo = 8 × 10 = 80 square inches

and area of border = 144 square inches that is given

so new area of photo with the border is 80 + 144 = 224 square inches

and we can say that

area of full rectangle  - area of the photograph = Area of Border

(8 + 2x) × (10 + 2x) – (80) = 144  square inches

80 + 16x + 20x + 4x^{2} – 80 = 144

4x^{2} + 36x – 144 = 0

solve thios equation we get

2x^{2} + 9x – 36 = 0

solve thios equation we get

(x + 12) (x – 3) = 0

so here x have two value one is negative and other is positive

so we consider only positive value

x = -12 or x = 3

width of the border is 3 inches
