What is the relationship between the frequency of light and refraction?

Physics

Answer:

The refractive index of a medium is dependent (to some extent) upon the frequency of light passing through, with the highest frequencies having the highest values of n. It also changes the wave speed, frequency, and wavelength.. Although the wave slows down, its frequency remains the same, due to the fact that its wavelength is shorter. When waves travel from one medium to another the frequency never changes. As waves travel into the denser medium, they slow down and wavelength decreases

Answer:the higher the frequency the greater the index of refraction

Explanation:The index of refraction of any material besides vacuum varies slightly with the frequency of light too soo basically the more or higher the frequency the greater the refraction (index of refraction)

For example

Say you have green or red light which they have lower frequency that blue or purple

So the index of refraction will be lower

If you found yourself on the see-through side of this one-way mirror what is the best way you could prevent someone on the other
Taya2010 [7]

Answer:

If there is any sheets or padded material in this room you can cover the window, you could turn off all the lights if there is a light switch in the room,   you could try to bring a bright flashlight in and shine it into the other room(try to annoy the person watching you so they leave), act really boring and hopefully make the other person lose interest.

Explanation:

(hint) If you actually get in a situation like this place your fingernail against the mirror or glass you think could possibly be a one-way mirror. If there's a gap between your nail and the mirror, it's most likely a genuine mirror :)

Which of the following would be an example of basic research?
lara [203]

Answer: Experimenting to determine the fundamental properties of x-rays.

Explanation:

Scientific basic research aims to find the fundaments or principles of the phenomena.

The basic research is intended to understand the matter, its nature, its properties, its behavior. It searches to make theory. To finding how the things work but not how to use those things for a determined purpose.

The study of the properties of the atom to understand what it is, how it interacts with other atoms, how it determines the properties of the matter are some examples of basic research, such as experimenting to determine the fundamental properties of x-rays is.

On the other hand, the other examples given, Spencer's research on WWII radar technology that led to the invention of the microwave oven, Edison's research and use of other scientists' work to invent the light bulb, and Morrison and Franscioni's research done to create the Frisbee, are examples of applied research science. This is research to find a valuable use of some scientific knowledge.

A sample contains 20 kg of radioactive material. The decay constant of the material is 0.179 per second. If the amount of time t
Nataly [62]

Answer:

Explanation:

Given

N0 = 20kg (original substance)

decay constant λ = 0.179/sec

time t = 300s

We are to find N(t)

Using the formula;

n(t) = N0e^-λt

Substitute the given values

N(t) = 20e^-(0.179)(300)

N(t) = 20e^(-53.7)

N(t) = 20(4.7885)

N(t) =143.055

To know how much of the original material that is active, we will find N(t)/N0 = 143.055/20 = 7.152

About 7 times the original material is still radioactive
