First lets see what information they give us.
We know that they arrived with 6 gallons of gas and along the way they pumped 18 gallons and used 5.
(i got 18 by adding 8 and 10 just to make it simpler)

  • xy =  - 3

  • y =  \dfrac{ - 3}{x}

b.) the table will be like this :

  • for x = 1 , y = -3

point (1 , -3)

  • for x = 3 , y = -1

point (3, -1)

  • for x = -1 , y = 3

point (-1 , 3)

  • for x = -3 , y = 1

point (-3 , 1)

Factor. Explain.<br> 24x³y²-4x²y+84x^4
Elan Coil [88]

Answer:

\boxed{\bold{4x^2\left(6xy^2-y+21x^2\right)}}

Step By Step Explanation:

Apply Exponent Rule \bold{\:a^{b+c}=a^ba^c}

\bold{x^4=x^2x^2,\:x^3y^2=x^2x}

\bold{24x^2x-4x^2y+84x^2x^2}

Rewrite 84: \bold{21\cdot \:4}

Rewrite 24: \bold{6\cdot \:4}

\bold{6\cdot \:4x^2x-4x^2y+21\cdot \:4x^2x^2}

Factor Out Common Term \bold{4x^2}

\bold{4x^2\left(6xy^2-y+21x^2\right)}

➤ \boxed{\bold{Mordancy}}

Compare the slopes of the linear functions f(x) and g(x) and choose the answer that best describes them.
Tcecarenko [31]

Answer:

The slope of f(x) is equal to the slope of g(x).

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The formula to calculate the slope between two points is equal to

m=\frac{y2-y1}{x2-x1}

step 1

Find the slope of the function f(x)

we have the points

(0,-1) and (3,1)

substitute in the formula

m=\frac{1+1}{3-0}

m_1=\frac{2}{3}

step 2

Find the slope of the function g(x)

take two points of the given table

(0,2) and (3,4)

substitute in the formula

m=\frac{4-2}{3-0}

m_2=\frac{2}{3}

step 3

Compare the slopes

m_1=m_2

therefore

The slope of f(x) is equal to the slope of g(x).

If the divisor is 40 what is the least three-digit dividend tag would give a remainder of 4
fgiga [73]
Let the three digit dividend be abc ,

then abc = 40*Q+4

So, abc is "40 times Q (the quotient, a number) plus 4"

we try a few values of Q for which 40Q+4 is a 3 digit number:

for Q=2

40*2+4=80+4=84

for Q=3

40*3+4=120+4=124

Answer: 124
