Answer:

With this sentence, Dr. Pickhardt means that the rebellion removes the young man and one type of addiction to place him in another type of addiction.

Explanation:

Dr. Pickhardt affirms that the rebellion leaves the youth dependent on a thought opposed to the population mass, not meaning independence to anything. This is because for the young person to promote a rebellion, he must depend on the constant deficit and self-interpretation of what he sees in society. This makes young people dependent on doing the opposite of what the population does.

You have learned that it is important to listen critically.
s344n2d4d5 [400]

In this speech, Michelle Obama seeks to promote her programe "Let Girls Learn" and celebrate its first anniversary. Ms Obama firstly explains that this programe arouse from the anger and outrage that the lack of education for women worldwide caused her and all people involved. She states that barriers for girls education are not merely economical, but attitudinal and legal. "In my lifetime" she says "it was perfectly legal for employers to discrimate against women". She further explains that the rights that women gained and now posse are being taken for granted while they are "at risk of being rolled back". These rights, she explained, were attained through protests and negociations, and for this, education was key.

She then provides touching examples of girls from developing countries and how they fought to beat their circumstances and become their own person. Because, she claims, "girls know that education is their only path to self sufficiency, the only chance of shaping their own fate".

Finally, she praises the US Government for leading the way in the issue, through scholarships, investments and the building of infrastructure. She explains that big corporations and even other countries like Japan, the UK and South Korea are involved in the project, along with people worldwide who participates and volunteer.

Ms. Obama is clearly involved with this issue, and the emotion can be felt through her words. The information she shares is veridic and reliable. And even though she seeks to promote her programe and her husband's administration in the process, I believe she is truly commited to helping women around the world.

A 270 word essay about the book DEADLY LITTLE VOICES
Amanda [17]

Answer:

High school junior Camelia thought her powers of psychometry only gave her the ability to sense the future through touch. But now she’s started to hear voices. Mean voices. Berating her, telling her how ugly she is, and that she’d be better off dead. It’s a troubling development that has Camelia terrified for her mental stability, especially since her deranged aunt with a suicidal history just moved into the family house. More torturing, ex-boyfriend Ben, who has similar psychometric abilities, has been spending more time with their classmate Alejandra, even as her own feelings for Adam grow stronger. Even her closest friends, Kimmie and Wes, are not sure how to handle her erratic behavior. Still, the bond between Camelia and Ben is palpable.

With the line between right and wrong fraying, Camelia turns to pottery to get a grasp on her emotions. She begins sculpting a beautiful figure skater, only to receive frightening premonitions that someone’s in danger. But who is the victim? And how can Camelia help them when she is on the brink of losing her own sanity?

In the midst of losing your own sanity, would you be completely absorbed in protecting someone else? Every time I read about Camelia, I'm baffled. This girl either has a hero complex or she is just so amazingly genuinely good-hearted that she simply wants to save everyone. However, I'm leaning more towards the hero complex. No matter what, this girl just can't stay away from helping someone she THINKS could be in danger.

This book is a page turner, just like its predecessors. I read it in one go and couldn't put it down. And like the others, it is so much fun to read alone at night. It's just enough suspense to give you that thrill while still ensuring a decent night's sleep. If you don't pick up another book, that is. The writing of the book is very fast paced making it an extremely easy and fun read. Laurie keeps you on the edge of your seat guessing and wondering what will happen next as Camelia and crew continue on their journey to understand the strange power of psychometry.
