|x+4| = horizontal translation left 4 units |x|+4 = vertical translation up 4 units |x|-4 = vertical translation down 4 units |x-4| = horizontal translation right 4 units
Think of it as when both x and a number are between the lines then do the opposite of what it says. For example |x+2| is actually going horizontal left 2 units so think of it as the plus being a minus. Same for |x-2| it is actually going horizontal right 2 units so think of it as adding 2 units
When it is just |x| plus or minus a number then you’re going up or down as in vertical so if it says for example: |x|+2 you’d be going vertical up 2 units and if it said |x|-2 then you’d be going vertical down 2 units.
Written out that's 2x-7 is greater than or equal to 41. Add 7 to both sides to get 2x is greater than or equal to 48. Divide both sides by 2 to get that x is greater than or equal to 24.
