So since we have a straight line, both angles HAVE to equal 180°.
So all we have to do is subtract 180°-86° and we find the degree of the second angle. Angle FGE is 94°

Answer:90

Step-by-step explanation:

My reasoning is because it makes a right angle and a right angle is equivalent to 90 degrees

A 100 gallon tank initially contains 100 gallons of sugar water at a concentration of 0.25 pounds of sugar per gallon suppose th
Vsevolod [243]

At the start, the tank contains

(0.25 lb/gal) * (100 gal) = 25 lb

of sugar. Let S(t) be the amount of sugar in the tank at time t. Then S(0)=25.

Sugar is added to the tank at a rate of <em>P</em> lb/min, and removed at a rate of

\left(1\frac{\rm gal}{\rm min}\right)\left(\dfrac{S(t)}{100}\dfrac{\rm lb}{\rm gal}\right)=\dfrac{S(t)}{100}\dfrac{\rm lb}{\rm min}

and so the amount of sugar in the tank changes at a net rate according to the separable differential equation,

\dfrac{\mathrm dS}{\mathrm dt}=P-\dfrac S{100}

Separate variables, integrate, and solve for <em>S</em>.

\dfrac{\mathrm dS}{P-\frac S{100}}=\mathrm dt

\displaystyle\int\dfrac{\mathrm dS}{P-\frac S{100}}=\int\mathrm dt

-100\ln\left|P-\dfrac S{100}\right|=t+C

\ln\left|P-\dfrac S{100}\right|=-100t-100C=C-100t

P-\dfrac S{100}=e^{C-100t}=e^Ce^{-100t}=Ce^{-100t}

\dfrac S{100}=P-Ce^{-100t}

S(t)=100P-100Ce^{-100t}=100P-Ce^{-100t}

Use the initial value to solve for <em>C</em> :

S(0)=25\implies 25=100P-C\implies C=100P-25

\implies S(t)=100P-(100P-25)e^{-100t}

The solution is being drained at a constant rate of 1 gal/min; there will be 5 gal of solution remaining after time

1000\,\mathrm{gal}+\left(-1\dfrac{\rm gal}{\rm min}\right)t=5\,\mathrm{gal}\implies t=995\,\mathrm{min}

has passed. At this time, we want the tank to contain

(0.5 lb/gal) * (5 gal) = 2.5 lb

of sugar, so we pick <em>P</em> such that

S(995)=100P-(100P-25)e^{-99,500}=2.5\implies\boxed{P\approx0.025}

A trapezoid has a base of two and six and an area of 24 square units. What is the height?
Nezavi [6.7K]

\bf \textit{area of a trapezoid}\\\\ A=\cfrac{h(a+b)}{2}~~ \begin{cases} a,b=&\stackrel{bases}{parallel}\\ &sides\\ h=&height\\ \cline{1-2} a=&2\\ b=&6\\ A=&24 \end{cases}\implies 24=\cfrac{h(2+6)}{2}\implies 24=\cfrac{h(8)}{2} \\\\\\ 24=4h\implies \cfrac{24}{4}=h\implies 6=h

Let a= x^2 +4. Rewrite the following equation in terms of a and set it equal to zero.
dusya [7]

Answer:

If:

a=x^{2}+4    (1)

And we have to rewrite the following expresion in terms of a:

{(x^{2}+4)}^{2}+32=12x^{2}+48   (2)

Firstly we have to rearrange the right side of equation (2) in terms of  x^{2}+4, factorizing by the common factor:

{(x^{2}+4)}^{2}+32=12(x^{2}+4)

Then, we can substitute x^{2}+4 by a:

a^{2}+32=12a

And set it equal to zero:

a^{2}-12a+32=0>>>>This is the resulting equation

Now, each term of an algebraic expresion (like the equation above) is composed of sign, coefficient, variable and exponent. The terms are separated from each other by the plus sign (+) or the minus sign (-).

In this case, the variable is a and the number that multiplies the variable (the coefficient) is -12, whereas the constant (which is the term with no variable) is 32

A police department reports that the probabilities that 0, 1, 2, and 3 burglaries will be reported in a given day are 0.53, 0.40
SpyIntel [72]
The mean of the probability distribution is given by the expected value given by

E(x)=\sum xp(x) \\  \\ =0(0.53)+1(0.40)+2(0.05)+3(0.02) \\  \\ =0.40+0.10+0.06=0.56

The variance of the probability distribution is given by

Var(x)=(x-\bar{x})^2p(x) \\  \\ =(0-0.56)^2(0.53)+(1-0.56)^2(0.40)+(2-0.56)^2(0.05)\\+(3-0.56)^2(0.02) \\  \\ =(-0.56)^2(0.53)+0.44^2(0.40)+1.44^2(0.05)+2.44^2(0.02) \\  \\ =0.3136(0.53)+0.1936(0.40)+2.0736(0.05)+5.9536(0.02) \\  \\ =0.166208+0.07744+0.10368+0.119072=0.4664

The standard deviation is given by

\sigma(x)=\sqrt{Var(x)} \\  \\ =\sqrt{0.4664}=0.683
