4- 20

I created an equation for this one:

4x+x=100

  • 4x= four times the amount of the other number
  • x= the number
  • combine like terms

5x=100

  • divide by 5

x=20

5. One pretzel costs $3

Create an equation:

  • 2s+p=7
  • 4s+3p=17

Mulitply 2s+p=7 by -2 so you can use elimination.

  • -4s-2p=-14
  • 4s+3p=17

Combine equations

p=3

For #3
there will be 8 geese and 12 pigs

the equation would be first to find out how many geese there are

pigs have 4 feet and geese have 2
g=geese p=pigs

4(20-g)+2g=8

now we know there are 8 geese which is 8•2 so 16 feet!

now use what we know to find out how many pigs there are

20-8 is 12 which means 12 pigs or 12•4 which means 48 feet

you can check it by adding the feet and animals

12+8=20 animals
48+16=64 feet!

The director of admissions at Kinzua University in Nova Scotia estimated the distribution of student admissions for the fall sem
Naily [24]

Answer: 1406

Step-by-step explanation:

Given Table :

Admissions   Probability

1,040                0.3

1,320                0.2

1,660                0.5

Now, the expected number of admissions for the fall semester is given by :-

E(x)=p_1x_1+p_2x_2+p_3x_3\\\\\Rightarrow\ E(x)=0.3\times1040+0.2\times1320+0.5\times1660\\\\\Rightarrow\ E(x)=1406

Hence, the expected number of admissions for the fall semester = 1406

Help me w this multiple choice!
olga2289 [7]

Answer:

D

Step-by-step explanation:

\sin(30)  =  \frac{n}{ \frac{10 \sqrt{3} }{3} }   \\ 0.5 =  \frac{n}{5.77} \\ n = 2.88 =  \frac{5 \sqrt{3} }{3}

\cos(30)  =  \frac{m}{ \frac{10 \sqrt{3} }{3} }  \\ 0.866 =  \frac{m}{5.77}  \\ m = 5
