Answer:

9.949 m

Explanation:

From the question,

L' = L+LαΔT................. Equation 1

Where L' = New length, L = Original length, α = linear expansivity of Cu, ΔT = change in temperature

Given: L = 10 m, α  = 0.00017 K⁻¹, ΔT = 50-80

L' = 10+10(0.00017)(50-80)

L' = 10-0.051

L' = 9.949 m

Hence the new legth of Cu is  9.949 m

Equal force is applied to a baseball, a basketball, a tennis ball, and a bowling ball. Which ball will have the GREATEST acceler
mr_godi [17]

according to newton's second law , net force on an object is equal to the product of its mass and its acceleration. the formula is given as

F = ma

where F = force , m = mass  , a  = acceleration

rearranging the equation for acceleration "a" , we get

a = F/m

when force F is kept constant , the acceleration is inversely related to the mass "m".  in other words, greater the mass , smaller will be the acceleration and smaller the mass, greater will be the acceleration.

the masses of baseball, basketball,  tennis ball and bowling ball can in arranged in increasing order as

tennis ball < baseball < basketball < bowling ball.

since acceleration and mass have inverse relation from the formula , the order of the acceleration will also be reverse.

tennis ball > baseball > basketball > bowling ball.

hence the tennis ball will have the greatest acceleration as it has the smallest mass.

A professor drives off with his car (mass 870 kg), but forgot to take his coffee mug (mass 0.47 kg) off the roof. The coefficien
SSSSS [86.1K]

Answer:6.86 m/s^2

Explanation:

Given

mas of car=870 kg

coffee mug mass=0.47 kg

coefficient of static friction between mug and roof \mu _s= 0.7

Coefficient of kinetic Friction \mu _k=0.5

maximum car acceleration is \mu \times g

here coefficient of static friction comes in to action because mug is placed over car . If mug is moving relative to car then \mu _k is come into effect

a_{max}=0.7\times 9.8=6.86 m/s^2

Where in our daily lives do we encounter "background" radiation
Tcecarenko [31]

Answer:

Explanation:Naturally occurring radioactive materials are present in its crust, the floors and walls of our homes, schools, or offices and in the food we eat and drink. There are radioactive gases in the air we breathe. Our own bodies - muscles, bones, and tissue - contain naturally occurring radioactive elements.

In a neutral atom the number of electrons equals the number of what part of what other part
koban [17]

Protons

Explanation:

In a neutral atom, the number of electrons equals the number of protons in the atom.

  •  Electrons are the negatively charge particles in an atom
  • Protons carry positive charge.
  • Neutrons do not carry any charges.

Protons and neutrons are contained in the nucleus of an atom they determine the mass number of the atom.

In a neutral atom, the number of protons and electrons must be the same.

A charge atom called an ion is one that has lost or gained electrons.
