Mature mammalian red blood cells lack nuclei, mitochondria and rough endoplasmic reticulum, they do not contain DNA and consequently, cannot divide. They also cannot synthesise RNA nor synthesise any new proteins, and consequently, have a limited lifespan. Mature red blood cells circulate for about 100–120 days in the body before they are removed by the spleen.

How do sediment properties (porosity & permeability) affect how groundwater movement occurs?
padilas [110]

Answer:

Grain size, sorting and shape of particles in sediment or rock can influence how much empty space is available to store water (porosity) and the ability of groundwater to move through the material (permeability). In liver cells, the inner mitochondrial membranes are about five times the area of the outer mitochondrial membranes. What purpo
m_a_m_a [10]

Answer:

Option (C).

Explanation:

Oxidative phosphorylation may be defined as the process of the production of ATP molecule by the use of enzyme and transfer of electrons from one complex to the other complex.

The liver cells has five times large surface area of inner mitochondrial membrane than the outer membrane. This increases the surface area of the inner mitochondrial membrane that increase the rate of the oxidative phosphorylation. The complexes of the electron transport chain is located in the inner mitochondrial membrane.

Thus, the correct answer is option (C).
