Why is identifying the theme of a poem beneficial?

English

I believe that poems are a lot like art. Everyone can look at it (or listen in the poem sense) and create their own meaning due to how it makes them feel. But once you identify the them. Then you can understand the analogy’s/symbolism of a poem. And you can go more in-depth and think about how it makes you feel and how the writer felt and what they wanted to push out towards the listeners
