A person gets on a Ferris wheel at the starting point. The starting point is 15 feet off the ground. The Ferris wheel has a radi
lisov135 [29]
<h2>Answer:</h2>

\boxed{\frac{25}{2}(\sqrt{6}+\sqrt{2})+65}

<h2>Explanation:</h2>

<em>The height of the rider from the ground after the Ferris wheel</em> equals <em>the starting point is 15 feet off the ground </em><em>plus </em><em>the radius of the Ferris wheel </em><em>plus </em><em>the opposite side of the triangle ΔABC </em>(See figure below).<em> </em>Hence our goal is to find this side. We have the angle 11\pi /2=165^{\circ}, therefore the angle ∠BAC = 165° - 90° = 75°. So this side can be found using trigonometry:

\overline{BC}=\overline{AB}sin(75^{\circ})=50sin(75^{\circ})=\frac{25}{2}(\sqrt{6}+\sqrt{2})

Finally, the height is:

H=\frac{25}{2}(\sqrt{6}+\sqrt{2})+15+50 \\ \\ \boxed{H=\frac{25}{2}(\sqrt{6}+\sqrt{2})+65}

Two angels re supplementary. The larger angle is 48 degrees more than the 10 times the smaller angle. Find the measure of each a
evablogger [386]
Supplementary angles are two angles that add up to 180°.

STEP 1:
find the value of x

x= smaller angle
10x + 48= larger angle

Add the two angles above to equal 180.

x + (10x + 48)= 180
combine like terms

11x + 48= 180
subtract 48 from both sides

11x= 132
divide both sides by 11

x= 12° smaller angle

STEP 2:
find the value of the second angle

=10x + 48
=10(12) + 48
=120 + 48
=168° larger angle

CHECK:
12° + 168°= 180°
180°= 180°

ANSWER: The smaller angle is 12° and the larger angle is 168°.

Hope this helps! :)

The equation for Constant of Proportionality is y = kx? If you solved for the letter k instead of y, would the correct equation.
telo118 [61]
I don’t think it would work it you solved for k instead of y. Because you’re solving for y when you do constant of proportionality. i’m not sure if i’m right or not but that’s what i think.
