Answer:

Time taken by the un powered raft to cover this distance is T = 192.12 hr

Step-by-step explanation:

Let speed of boat = u \frac{km}{hr}

Speed of current = v \frac{km}{hr}

Let distance between A & B = 100 km

Time taken in downstream = 32 hours

32 = \frac{100}{u +v}

u + v = \frac{100}{32}

u + v = 3.125 ------ (1)

Time taken in upstream = 48 hours

48 = \frac{100}{u -v}

u -v = \frac{100}{48}

u - v = 2.084 ------- (2)

By solving equation (1) & (2)

u = 2.6045 \frac{km}{hr}

v = 0.5205 \frac{km}{hr}

Now the time taken by the un powered raft to cover this distance

T = \frac{100}{v}

Because un powered raft travel with the speed of the current.

T = \frac{100}{0.5205}

T = 192.12 hr

Therefore the  time taken by the un powered raft to cover this distance is

T = 192.12 hr

Answer:

Angle C = 142 degrees

Step-by-step explanation:

A+B = 90

B+C = 180

Rearrange first equation to get B = 90-A

Plug this into the second equation:

90-A + C = 180

C = A + 90

Plug in A, C = 52 + 90 = 142

It is 5 degrees outside and the temperature will drop 4 degrees each hour for the next 3 hours. What will the temperature be in
Softa [21]

Answer:

  -7 degrees

Step-by-step explanation:

The temperature is predicted to be ...

  5 +3(-4) = 5 -12 = -7 . . . . degrees

__

To find the change, multiply the rate of change by the time period. To find the new temperature, add the change to the starting temperature.

Total profit P is the difference between total revenue R and total cost C. Given the following total-revenue and total-cost fu
gavmur [86]

Answer:

The profit function is:

P(x)=-x^2+1280x-3300

The maximum value is 406, 300 occurring when x = 640.

Step-by-step explanation:

The revenue function is:

R(x)=1300x-x^2

And the cost function is:

C(x)=3300+20x

Then the total profit function will be:

P(x)=R(x)-C(x)=(1300x-x^2)-(3300+20x)=-x^2+1280x-3300

This is a quadratic function.

Therefore, the maximum value of the total profit will occur at its vertex point.

The vertex of a quadratic is given by:

\displaystyle \Big(-\frac{b}{2a}, f\Big(-\frac{b}{2a}\Big)\Big)

In this case, a = -1, b = 1280, and c = -3300.

Then the point at which the maximum profit occurs is at:

\displaystyle x=-\frac{1280}{2(-1)}=640

And the maximum profit will be:

P(640)=-(640)^2+1280(640)-3300=406300

Jet001 [13]

Answer:

The slope- intercept form this situation is given by y = 0.75x + 3 .

Step-by-step explanation:

The slope- intercept is given by

y = mx + c

Where m is the slope, c is the y intercept .

As given

When visiting Baltimore, MD needs  taxi to get from your hotel to the National Aquarium.

The taxi company charges a flat fee of $3.00 for using the taxi and $0.75 per mile.

Let us assume that the total amount charge by the taxi be y .

Let us assume that the number of miles travelled by the taxi be x.

Than

Total amount charge by taxi = Amount charge by the taxi per miles + Flat free charge .

y = 0.75x + 3

(Here m = 0.75 and c = 3)

Therefore the slope- intercept form this situation is given by y = 0.75x + 3 .
