There are 4 general types of intermolecular forces: electrostatic force, London dispersion force, Dipole-Dipole force and Hydrogen Bonding.

Electrostatic force is the force between opposite charges; London dispersion force is common for nonpolar molecules, dipole-dipole forces common in polar molecules while hydrogen bonding is for molecules having either O-H, N-H and F-H bonds.

H₂O: Since water has 2 O-H bonds and it is polar, the intermolecular forces are hydrogen bonding and dipole-dipole forces

CO: It is polar sothe answer is dipole-dipole forces.

HCl: This is also a polar molecule, so dipole-dipole forces.

CO₂: This is a nonpolar molecules, so the answer is London dispersion forces.

How many molecules in 9.18 moles of C11H12O22
Setler [38]

Answer:

55.3 × 10²³ molecules

Explanation:

Given data:

Number of moles of C₁₁H₁₂O₂₂ = 9.18 mol

Number of molecules = ?

Solution:

The given problem will solve by using Avogadro number.

It is the number of atoms , ions and molecules in one gram atom of element, one gram molecules of compound and one gram ions of a substance.

The number 6.022 × 10²³ is called Avogadro number.

For example,

18 g of water = 1 mole = 6.022 × 10²³ molecules of water

For given data:

9.18 mol × 6.022 × 10²³ molecules /1 mol

55.3 × 10²³ molecules

What is the role of neutrons in an atom??
Colt1911 [192]
They're only found in the nucleus and play an important role in keeping the atom stable because they carry a negative charge to counteract the proton's positive charge.

I don’t know the answers to these pls help
stepladder [879]

Answer:

4. Option C. Pentane.

5. Option D.

Explanation:

4. Hydrocarbons are compound containing carbon and hydrogen only. Hydrocarbons are said to be saturated when they contain only carbon to carbon single bond. All alkanes are saturated hydrocarbon.

The correct answer is pentane.

5. Isomerism is the phenomenon whereby two or more compounds have the same molecular formula but different structural patterns. The compounds involved are called isomers.

A careful observation of the diagram above shows that only option D satisfied the definition of Isomerism as the two compound both have the same molecular formula as C3H8O but different structural patterns.

Note: option C does not contain isomers as Isomerism can not occur in a compound having just 1 carbon atom.

Indicate what happens to the concentration of Pb2+ in each half cell
Taya2010 [7]

Answer:

Your questions requires diagrams of the cell to get which one is on the left or right. However, see the attached file below

The correct answer is (d) the left half-cell will decrease in concentration; and the right half-cell will increase in concentration.

Explanation:

The concentration of the Pb2+ increases in the oxidation half cell while the concentration of the Pb2+ decreases in the reduction half cell during the reaction.

In the Left Beaker (Left half cell), their is less concentration

Pb(s) ---> Pb2+(aq) + 2 e- Concentration of Pb2+(aq) increase ; Electrons going out from this side

In the Right Beaker (right half cell), their is more concentration

Pb2+(aq) + 2 e- ---> Pb(s) Concentration of Pb2+(aq) decrease ; Electrons coming in to this side

Electrons will flow from Left to Right direction.
