Answer:

x = 40

Step-by-step explanation:

The figure shows two similar triangles. Thus, the side lengths of similar triangles are proportional to each other. Therefore:

\frac{24}{24 - 15} = \frac{x}{x - 25}

\frac{24}{9} = \frac{x}{x - 25}

Cross multiply

24(x - 25) = 9(x)

24x - 600 = 9x

Subtract 24x from each side

- 600 = 9x - 24x

- 600 = -15x

Divide both sides by -15

40 = x

x = 40

Which equation can be used to solve for x in the following diagram?
Setler [38]

∑ Hey, petalssquad10 ⊃

Answer:

( 10 x + 10 ) = 110

Step-by-step explanation:

As you can see this following diagram shown a vertical angles which are angles that are opposite of each other when two lines cross. You can also see it kind of look like a "x". Vertical angles also means that they have the same angle measure. A example is if this angle is "110" then the other sides equal to "110''.

Hence, the equation we can be used to solve for x in the following diagram is:

( 10 x + 10 ) = 110

Plz help Evaluate. 5⋅40
lana [24]

Answer: =200

Step-by-step explanation:

This question it's about PEMDAS. This lesson it's about order of operations. p-parenthesis, e-exponents, m-multiply, d-divide, a-add, and s-subtract. It can also go left to right. multiply by the numbers. product it's going to be multiply by the numbers, fractions, factors, and multiples.

5*40=200

40*5=200

200/5=40

200/40=5

Hope this helps!

Thanks!

The length of a photograph is 3cm less than twice the width. The area is 54cm^2. Find the dimensions of the photograph.
REY [17]
W= width
l= length= 2w-3

Area= length * width
A= lw
substitute l=2w-3 for l
54= (2w-3)(w)
54= 2w^2 - 3w
subtract 54 from both sides
0= 2w^2 - 3w - 54
factor the polynomial
0= (2w + 9)(w - 6)

Set each set of parentheses equal
to 0 and solve for width.

0=2w+9
-9=2w
-4.5= w NEGATIVE VALUE

0=w-6
6 cm=w

-4.5 is not the answer because it has a negative value. You cannot have a negative side of a photograph. So substitute 6 in to find length.

length= 2w-3
l= 2(6)-3
l= 12-3
l= 9 cm

CHECK:
w= 6cm
l= 9cm
Area= length * width
54= 6*9
54= 54

ANSWER: width= 6cm; length= 9cm

Hope this helps! :)
