How do you get domain and range
Lunna [17]

Answer:

Another way to identify the domain and range of functions is by using graphs. Because the domain refers to the set of possible input values, the domain of a graph consists of all the input values shown on the x-axis. The range is the set of possible output values, which are shown on the y-axis.

Can you please help with both? :)
QveST [7]

Answer: 1. 12 2. 120

Step-by-step explanation:

1. so basically 9/6=18/x

since they are similir the'd have the same ratio

sooo you just solve for x (multiply 6 by 18, and then divide by 9) and you get 12

2. same thing except you put 6/10=12/x, and solve it (multiply 10 by 12 and divide by 6) and u get 20

dats how i would do it but there are other ways too im sure :)

hope this helps

Suppose the same quantity is measured but with a more precise method giving an average and standard deviation of 15.0 ± 2.5. how
abruzzese [7]

To solve this, we use the z test.

The formula:

z = (x – u) / s

where x is sample value = 20, u is the mean = 15, and s is the standard deviation = 2.5

z = (20 – 15) / 2.5

z = 2

Since we are looking for values greater than 20, this is right tailed test. We use the standard distribution tables to find for P.

P = 0.0228

Therefore:

number of students = 100 * 0.0228 = 2.28

2 to 3 students will get greater than 20 measurement

Question 1 solution:
You have two unknowns here:

Let the Water current speed = W

Let Rita's average speed = R

We are given two situations, where we can form two equations, and therefore solve for the two unknowns, W, R:

Part 1)  W→ , R←(against current, upstream)
If Rita is paddling at 2mi/hr against the current, this means that the current is trying to slow her down. If you look at the direction of the water, it is "opposing" Rita, it is "opposite", therefore, our equation must have a negative sign for water:

R–W=2  - equation 1

Part 2)  W→ , R→(with current)
Therefore, R+W=3  - equation 2

From equation 1, W=R-2,
Substitute into equation 2.
R+(R–2)=3
2R=5
R=5/2mi/hr

So when W=0 (still), R=5/2mi/hr

Finding the water speed using the same rearranging and substituting process:

1...               R=2+W
2...  (2+W)+W=3
                 2W=1
                   W=1/2mi/hr

Need help with simplifying expressions
Ilia_Sergeevich [38]

Answer:

A) -20

Step-by-step explanation:

distribute the 4y and the -4 to the parentheses

16y^2 -16y+16y-20-16y^2

combine like terms

16y^2-16y^2=0

-16y+16y=0

-20
