What is the effect of the choice of frozen landscape such as the north pole in the swiss alps in Settings in Frankenstein?
Finger [1]

Answer:

The choice of a frozen landscape has two important interpretations:

- It is meant as a symbolic representation of the feelings of loneliness of the monster the doctor creates, and perhaps the doctor's aswell. The monster feels alienated and longs for love, but all he knows is cold rejection. His life is limited by strong boundaries (like ice) that he can only avoid.

- It is a symbol of the consequences of the pursuit of knowledge. The path of knowledge can also be associated with the North Pole landscape, since the extreme conditions resemble the doctor's extreme, life threatening- sientific curiosity. In the book the doctor is lost, his life may be in danger and he is alone, deprived from the warmth of company. The extreme conditions of the North Pole could mirror these feelings/experiences.

So I need to write a short story that's 500-1000 words long, that contains the following
Ber [7]

Okay, I can't write it for you but I can give you some advice from a writer.

Step 1. Brainstorm. Pick a topic and just spill all your ideas onto a page, there doesn't have to be any organization. Make sure that when you choose your topic it's something that you would actually and enjoy, that will make it a lot easier to write.

Step 2. Once you have your topic and some ideas on how to develop it, start to organize your thoughts into paragraphs and label them with the appropriate progressions: the exposition, rising action, complicating incident, climax, and a resolution.

Step 3. After you've written your outline, you just have to jump in and start writing. If you went in with a strong enough plan and stick to it, then your story should come out fairly well.

Step 4: Final draft, make sure that all the requirements have been filled. Don't forget to put it into a grammar/spelling checker to make sure there aren't any mistakes. After you are finished, read it out loud to yourself or put it in a text reader so you can hear it aloud.

And you're done! I hope this helps, if you need any more assistance feel free to message me.

In the poem, "the road not taken"
MissTica

Answer:

The poet's dilemma was that he did not know which road he had to choose when the road split into two. He looked down to one road and realised that, that road was taken by most of the people. The other road was covered in grass and proves that very less people have taken that road.

Read the excerpt below from the Yung Wing's book My life in China and America published in 1909.
pochemuha

The inference is that the sentence that best identifies the purpose of the excerpt is D. She seemed to take a special interest in me; I suppose, because I was young and helpless, and away from my parents, besides being the youngest pupil in the school.

What is an inference?

It should be noted that an inference simply means the conclusion that can be deduced based on the information given.

In this case, the narrator stated that her kindly expression and sympathetic smiles found little appreciative response at the outset, as I stood half dazed at her personality and my new environment.

Therefore, the inference is that the sentence that best identifies the purpose of the excerpt is that she seemed to take a special interest in me; I suppose, because I was young and helpless, and away from my parents, besides being the youngest pupil in the school.
