Why was Ptolemy's Earth-centered system of epicycles taught throughout Europe for over a thousand years?
marta [7]
Ptolemy's Earth-centered system of epicycles was taught throughout Europe for over a thousand years because this was in line with the religious narrative of the day, which put humans (and therefore the Earth) at the center of God's creation. To imagine a universe in which Earth was not central would be to imagine one in which humans were less important.

Fill in the table with descriptions of settlers' beliefs about American progress and the beliefs of Native Americans that confli
ki77a [65]

America developed the idea that it was destined to cover the entire continent throughout the 19th century. It was referred to as Manifest Destiny. Manifest Destiny adherents believed it was their responsibility to rule the land from the Atlantic to the Pacific. Additionally, they felt that God had chosen them to take on this mission.

If the Native Americans decided to stay, the expansion of America would be to their advantage and improve their way of life. Louisiana Native American tribes were purchased in the hopes that they would migrate west to create place for settlers migrating west. However, the government's attitude toward Native Americans living there started to sway in favor of evicting them from their homes. Native Americans should be expelled from their ancestral lands because they cannot assimilate into American culture.

Manifest Destiny

 • The doctrine of "Manifest Destiny" held that white Americans had been given a divine mandate to colonize all of North America.
 • Numerous actions taken to expel or wipe out the aboriginal inhabitants were motivated by the notion of "Manifest Destiny."
 • The figurehead most closely identified with Manifest Destiny was US President James K. Polk (1845–1849).
 • Sectional tensions over slavery were heightened by Manifest Destiny, which ultimately sparked the Civil War.

Answer:

A. Allowed Mexican equal treatment in public accommodations, while still segregating blacks, is the correct answer.

Explanation:

The resolution stated that , All the nations of North and South American continents were united in the struggle against Nazism and all persons of the Caucasian race were entitled to equal treatment in places of public accommodation. Although Texas has been treating the Mexicans as whites for long, it never challenged the segregation of blacks.

The resolution Allowed the Mexicans equal treatment in public accommodations while still segregating blacks. The Caucasian Race Resolution was passed to affirm the status of Mexicans as white. Historically Mexican Americans have been considered white in Texas and have also served in the segregated military and were even allowed to marry white partners during Jim Crow years.
