Please help and explain thanks
RoseWind [281]

Answer: Woops I meant 2 cannot be repeated because x-values cannot be the same. So it is C.

A function CAN have the same y-values such as (3,4) and (6,4). But a function CANNOT have the same x-values like (7,10) and (7,1) because it would be a straight line.

Cathrine has £7000 to invest.
Anvisha [2.4K]
Since this is a compound interest problem, you have to take note that the amount Catherine will get per year is not the same. It will increase per year since it is compounded. So first, we get the amount after one year. This will be 7000 x 0.04 which is 280 plus 7280. In the second year, she will get 7571 (7280 x 0.04 + 7280). In the third year, she will get 7874 (7571 x 0.04 + 7571). In the fourth year, she will get 8189 (7874 x 0.04 + 7874). And finally in the fifth year, she will get 8517 (8189 x 0.04 +8189). So after five years, she has 8517

Softa [21]

Answer:

<em>y = 4(0.75) or y = 3</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

The question is incomplete. Here is the complete question:

<em>The cost saver grocery club sells sheet cakes. Each 1/4 sheet of cake requires 0.75 teaspoon of baking soda. Which expression can be used to find the amount of baking soda needed for a whole cake? Select all the expressions that apply.</em>

<em />

<em>Let the amount baking soda required for a whole cake be y.</em>

<em />

<em>If each 1/4 sheet of cake requires 0.75 teaspoon of baking soda, the expression that can be used to find the amount of baking soda needed for a whole is as shown below;</em>

<em />

<em>1/4 sheet of cake = 0.75 teaspoon of soda</em>

<em>1 sheet of cake = y teaspoon of soda</em>

<em />

<em>cross multiply</em>

<em>1/4 * y = 1 * 0.75</em>

<em />

<em>y/4 = 0.75</em>

<em>multiply both sides by 4</em>

<em />

<em>y/4 * 4 = 0.75 * 4</em>

<em />

<em>y = 4(0.75)</em>

<em />

<em>y =  3 teaspoon of baking soda</em>
