Alu element at the PV92 locus on Chromosome 16. In this population, 436 people have a heterozygous genotype and 102 people have
Lesechka [4]

Answer:

Explanation:

According to the exercise we can infer that for the Alu insert:

p: positive allelic frequency

q: negative allelic frequency

maintaining that the population is in equilibrium we can carry out the following formula

p + q = 1 and pp + 2pq + qq = 1

looking for the genotype frequency we clear and obtain the following data

genotype frequency of 2pq = 436/1000 = 0.436

The genotype frequency of qq = 102/1000 = 0.102

This is how we look now:

number of positive people for Alu = 1000- (436 + 102) = 1000- 538 = 46

In this way it is resolved that:

genotypic frequency of pp = 462/1000 = 0.462

  p = 0.462 + (0.436 / 2) = 0.462 + 0.218 = 0.680

q = 0.102+ (0.436 / 2) = 0.102 + 0.218 = 0.320

According to the exercise carried out it is deduced:

The value of p in the population is = 0.68

We conclude that our prognosis showing a homozygous positive genotype is: 0.462

Match the staining techniques with their purpose.
Dennis_Churaev [7]

A Negative stain such as India ink or Congo red-Look for the presence of a capsule.

This stain method is usually used to stain the area around the microorganism.

B The Gram stain-Divide bacteria into two groups based on cell wall structure (thick vs. thin).

This is type of differential staining used to distinguish organisms based on their staining properties. Gram + and Gram- bacteria stain different because of different cell wall structure.

C The Ziehl-Neelsen Acid-fast stain- Identify bacteria with waxy cell walls such as: Mycobacterium tuberculosis (the cause of TB).

This is also differential staining method which uses heat and phenol to derive dye into the cells with lipid-rich walls.

D Simple stain with a basic dye-Stain microbes a bright color to make it easier to see them in bright field microscopy.

One dye is used in simple staining in order to determinate the size, shape and arrangement of the cells.

E The Schaeffer-Fulton Endospore stain-Identify Bacillus or Clostridium species, such as the causative agents of anthrax, botulism, tetanus and gangrene.

This is a special type of staining only used for the bacteria that can form endospores. Bacteria are first treated with heat and then with malachite green, which is very strong stain that can penetrate endospores.

An adventure company that takes divers and tourists on glass-bottomed boat tours of a coral reef ecosystem has noticed changes i
Semmy [17]

As we get closer to the coral reef, there are going to be several things we notice. The first thing we notice will be the large number of coral that seem to have lost their color, turning bright white. In addition, if we are in Florida, we may see something called the stony coral tissue loss disease. This disease has been of great concern in recent years in Floridian waters. Looking at these two changes, we can see that both are from the impact of climate change. As the water warms, the stress on the coral reaches a high point and they start to bleach and become more susceptible to several diseases.

I hope I've helped! :)
