The "Americans with Disabilities Act" is meant to<em> protect the rights of the people who are disabled</em>, especially when it comes to<u> employment.</u>
The disabilities mentioned here include the person's <em>mental condition</em>, aside from his <em>medical condition</em>. Included in the list of disabilities are the Human Immunodeficiency Viru<em>s</em><em> (HIV)</em> and Autoimmune Deficiency Syndrome <em>(AIDS)</em>. This includes those people who are "asymptomatic," but HIV-positive. This also means that the employer is not allowed to question the applicant's medical condition nor disclose such confidential information to other people. If the applicant or employee experiences <u>discrimination,</u> they have the right to file a complaint.
