In the story, it says "What happened is a nice young man was in the room and he had some white cards with ink spilled all over them. He sed Charlie what do you see on this card. I was very scared even tho I had my rabbits foot in my pocket because when I was a kid I always failed tests in schools and spilled ink to. I told him I saw a inkblot...Then I don't remember so good but he wanted me to say what was in the ink. I dint seenu thing in the ink but he said there was picture there other people saw." This shows that Charlie Gordon is not that bright and doesn't really understand what people are saying or meaning.

Rationalism believes on ethical and philosophical ideas that have beeen tested by facts and experiences. So, that is why the rationalist believe that man could survive smallpox with a vaccine.

Puritans believe that God is in control of the universe. They believe that since God is in control that he controls the actions of all men.
