Write in slope intercept form y-6=2(x+3)
tester [92]

Answer:

y = 2x + 12 is your answer.

Step-by-step explanation:

Note the equal sign, what you do to one side, you do to the other.

First, distribute 2 to all terms within the parenthesis.

y - 6 = 2(x + 3)

y - 6 = 2x + 6

Next, isolate the variable y. Add 6 to both sides.

y - 6 (+6) = 2x + 6 (+6)

y = 2x + 6 + 6

y = 2x + 12

y = 2x + 12 is your answer.

What does 2×+3y=6 look like if it was plotted as a point on a graf
wel
You can change it to Slope-Intercept form. That’s what I do as it’s easier to tell what is the slope and the y-intercept.

y=mx+b

2x + 3y = 6
3y = -2x + 6
y = -2/3x + 2

Steps:

Isolate y (move 2x to the other side) and change the sign of 2x (positive to negative). Divide everything in the equation by 3 in order to get y by itself.

Now that you have the equation, the slope is -2/3 and the y-intercept is 2. What I would do it start at 2 on the y axis and go down 2 units and to the right 3 units. The other way would be start at 2 on the y axis and go up 2 units on the y axis and then to the left 3 units. Your line should be a straight, diagonal line going down (in \ <— direction).

Hope this helped!! Tried to be as informative as possible.

A round mirror has a circumference of 87.92 inches. Calculate the area of the mirror.
Zarrin [17]

\bf \textit{circumference of a circle}\\\\ C=2\pi r~~ \begin{cases} r=radius\\[-0.5em] \hrulefill\\ C=87.92 \end{cases}\implies 87.92=2\pi r\implies \cfrac{87.92}{2\pi }=\boxed{r} \\\\[-0.35em] ~\dotfill\\\\ \textit{area of a circle}\\\\ A=\pi r^2~\hspace{7em}A=\pi \left( \boxed{\frac{87.92}{2\pi }} \right)^2 \\\\\\ A=\pi \cdot \cfrac{87.92^2}{4\pi^2}\implies A=\cfrac{87.92^2}{4\pi }\implies A\approx 615.127998
