To solve this equation you will need common demoninators. So, find a number that both 3 and 2 can go into. They can both go into 6. Whatevr you do to the denominator, you have to do to the numerator. Since we multiplied 3 times 2 to get 6, we multiply the numerator 2 by 2 as well leaving us with 4/6. Do the same to the other fraction. 2 times 3 is 6, so 1 times 3 is 3. We are left with 4/6 and 3/6. Now we add! 4 + 3 is 7 so as an improper fraction it would be 7/6. As a mixed number and proper fraction it would be 1  1/6. So your answer is approximately 1  1/6. A bowl of fruit is on the table. It contains 5 apples, 2 oranges, and 2 bananas. Christian and Aaron come home from school and r
Sholpan [36]

The probability that both grab oranges would be = \frac{1}{36}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

A bowl contains,

Apples = a = 5

Oranges = o = 2

bananas = b = 2

Total fruits in bowl = x = a + o + b = 5 + 2 + 2 = 9

Now, Christian and Aaron come home from school and randomly grab one fruit each.

The probability of first selecting orange would be = \frac{o}{b} = \frac{2}{9}

Now, the oranges left would be 2 - 1 = 1

and total fruits would be = 9 - 1 = 8

Hence, the probability of selecting second orange would be = \frac{1}{8}

Therefore, the probability that both grab oranges would be = \frac{1}{8} * \frac{2}{9} = \frac{1}{36}

Algebra 1 Word Problem
Ierofanga [76]

Answer:

otterbox costs $95; beats costs $210

Step-by-step explanation:

x = otterbox   y = beats

4x + 2y = 800      y = 2x + 20

4x + 2(2x + 20) = 800

4x + 4x +40 = 800

8x + 40 = 800

8x = 800 - 40

8x = 760

x = 760 / 8

x = 95  Otterbox costs $95 each

4x + 2y = 800

4(95) + 2y = 800

380 + 2y = 800

2y = 800 - 380

2y = 420

y = 420 / 2

y = 210   Beats costs $210

4(95) + 2(210) = 800

380 + 420 = 800

Lelu [443]

Answer:

The slope is 2. (m=2).

Step-by-step explanation:

y+5=2x+2

y+5-5=2x+2-5

y=2x-3

Equation is y=2x-3.

y=y-intercept

x=slope

Hence, the slope is 2.
