Because they were anti-feminists and believed that feminism made women unhappy. This type of conservative argument has made many women agree with this and even today there are anti-feminists who view feminism in the wrong way, but who still use feminist conquests as if it were not a feminist achievement.

lara31 [8.8K]

The concept of social facilitation is so named because of the idea that when the presence of others is arousing, "this arousal facilitates a well-learned, dominant response".

What is social facilitation?

The tendency for the presence of others to enhance a person's performance on a task is known as social facilitation.

Two types of social facilitation have also been defined: co-action effects and audience effects:

 • A co-action effect: is when your performance on a task improves simply because there are other people performing the same job as you. As an illustration, consider working alongside coworkers in an office setting as opposed to by yourself.
 • Audience effects: An audience effect is when your performance improves as a result of performing in front of a crowd. A pianist playing at home as opposed to performing in front of an audience is an example.

In addition, three more components are believed to play a role in social facilitation:

 1. physiological (drive and arousal),
 2. cognitive (distraction and attention), and
 3. affective (emotional) factors (anxiety and self-presentation).
