Solve for w. 9w-4/4=5w-6/7+6
ELEN [110]

Answer:

w=\frac{1}{16}

Step-by-step explanation:

\frac{9w-4}{4} =\frac{5w-6}{7+6}

9w-1=\frac{5w-6}{13}

9w-1+1=\frac{5w-6}{13}+1

9w=\frac{5w-6}{13}+1<u />

13 × 9w = 13 × \frac{5w-6}{13}+1

117w = 5w - 6 + 13

117w = 5w + 7

117w - 5w = 5w - 5w + 7

112w = 7

112w ÷ 112 = 7 ÷ 112

w=\frac{1}{16}

Fantom [35]
Each sheet is 14/45 mm, that works out to be 0.31mm, so yes it's thick enough.

-8+ square root of -20 /24
wolverine [178]

The square root of negative numbers is either "not allowed" (Case 1) or it results in imaginary roots (Case 2).

-8+ square root of -20 /24 "not allowed," Case 1

-8+ square root of -5/6 = -8 plus or minus i times sqrt(5/6)

5√6

= -8 plus or minus i times --------- (Case 2)

I don’t get solving equations with variables on both sides word problems. Can someone please help explain it to me because my te
salantis [7]

The object of any equation with a variable (whether it is on one side or both) is to isolate the variable.  We do this by moving all of the x's to one side of the equation and everything else to the other side.

For example:

3x - 5 = 2x + 1

<u>-2x      </u>   <u>-2x    </u>

 x  - 5 =         1

<u>     +5  </u>     <u>     +5 </u>

x         =         6

Now, there are 3 different types of solutions:

1) x = ____  there is one solution

2) 0 = 0   <em>or some other TRUE statement  </em>there are infinite solutions <em>because every value for x is a solution</em>

3) 0 = 1   <em>or some other FALSE statement  </em>there are no solutions <em>because no value for x will provide a solution</em>

HOPE THIS HELPED!
